Certificate II and III in Security

There is only one path to getting a Full Class 1 Security Licence. If you have completed your Certificate I in Pre-Licence security and have been working with a Provisional Security Licence you must complete 4 assessments in one year. Once you have passed all 4 assessments you will be given a Certificate II or III in Security Operations (PRS20103 and PRS30103 respectively). depending on which class 1 licence categories you have been assessed in.

Category 1A (Static and Mobile Guard), 1C (Crowd Controller) and 1G (Loss Prevention Officer) Licences require a Certificate II in Security Operations (PRS20103).

Category 1B (Bodyguard), 1D (Dog Handler), 1E (Control Room Operations), 1F (Armed Guard) Licences require a Certificate III in Security Operations (PRS30103).

If you do not complete these assessments within your first year as working as Security Guard you must hold your provisional licence for an additional year (although completed assessments will still carry over). As these assessments must be completed at a rate of one for every three months, it is advised that you plan ahead and get started early!
